I'll be honest; I'm tired. Who isn't these days? There is work, life, kids, health, friends, church, ball games, serving, and the list goes on and on for us all. Somewhere in between it all we eat, sleep, pay bills, pay taxes, rinse, lather, and repeat.
Through it all - God is good. Through it all - God is great. Through it all - He is the God who stays. Matthew West has a new song out with this title. Recently - I covered it at church. It is a great reminder that through the struggle, God stays with us. There is nothing that can separate us from God if we would just believe in Jesus Christ his son. Recently, my family has been struggling. Just as many others. We've dealt with some unexpected events. But I know God is getting me and my family through. As well through it all these past few months I was voted to be the Student Minister at Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church, I spent my summer with some awesome Christian filled youth, I was able to get to the dissertation phase of my degree, and I've seen that in the anxious details - God has a purpose, a design, and is giving us the opportunity to reinvent ourselves in his image. For the past 10 years I've been away from the music studio. I use to record and put out music a good bit. I even had some radio time and did some shows. In those past 10 years my life has changed so much. I've grown stronger in most areas while I still struggle in others; as we all do. I had some ideas for new albums, new songs, and podcasts. Some of which I still want to do. However, two weeks ago during a church service God spoke to me and told me about this new album which I WILL put out. It is already in pre-production. BRAND NEW ME is slated to be released independently Jan. 28th, 2020. This is a special date for me in some ways. It was the day in 1986 I first realized what death was as a kid when the Challenger blew up and it was the day I released my best selling album to date. It also has the number "28" in it which brings back memories of Nascar driver Davey Allison which inspired the name of my record label. Hey - as well the #28 is one of few perfect numbers in the math world!! I am excited for this and look forward to releasing the first two songs soon. They will be acoustic versions of the songs, Brand New Me & Unexpected... maybe an acoustic cover will be included! I pray that everyone is listening to the words of God. I pray for our country, world, and for the love of Jesus to be poured out in your life... God Bless, Chris Just wanting to post and let everyone know things have been busy, but I've been blessed. On Oct. 14th this year I was ordained as a minister. It was a special and mind-blowing day that was also my mothers birthday. I am looking forward to ministering and serving others and God who has graciously blessed me. The support from family, friends, and my church is unbelievable.
I had to put the new album on the back-burner for awhile, but am gearing up to start on it. I've been traveling for work and there is no shortage of mental health issues. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people in pain, afflicted, and suffering from many mental health issues. We need to be in prayer and action. The book of James in the Bible tells us not only to listen, but to be doers. We need to be helping people!!! In closing I want to take a moment and ask you to pray now for our country. It is more divided now than ever. That division has been growing more and more in the past 20 years. If we are to ever be a country of unity and peace we have to get God in the mix. All things other than God are worldly and thus cannot be peaceful. We have an election tomorrow, but more importantly we can stand up together today! God Bless!! CK Catching up with everyone! Delays in songs and albums since life is just got busy. A great deal has been going on. God is good and continues to bless me in many ways. Pray that things go smoothly this next year as some transitions are taking place. I look forward to getting some new music shared along with some devotionals and Bible studies I want to post and share!
God Bless, Chris......
